Parent Educator Program

At The Create School, parents and other family members are invited to join our school community to help facilitate the day to day operations. This might look like leading a class, assisting a lead teacher, watching students during lunch and recess, cooking breakfast or lunch, or cleaning the facility after school. These are just a few examples. We have both on campus opportunities as well as areas off campus that could use the help of people like you! We believe that everyone has something to bring to the table. The best part of joining the Parent Educator Program is that you get to choose your volunteer hours, be involved with your student's learning, and receive a tuition discount. It's a win-win!

When you volunteer at The Create School, the discounted tuition applies to each of your students. We track volunteer hours by family and not individual student accounts. We appreciate all of your support!

ON CAMPUS OPPORTUNITIES 

Lead Teacher

*Core Academic Teacher: Lead a core academic course Tuesdays - Thursdays.

Schedule: Classes run from 9:00 - 2:00

Tuition Discount: If you commit to the full schedule above, each of your students will be eligible for the Tier 5 discount

*Electives Teacher: Lead an elective course on Mondays.

Schedule: Classes run from 9:00 - 2:00

Tuition Discount: If you commit to the full schedule above, each of your students will be eligible for the Tier 3 discount

*Must be licensed or have experience in the position to qualify.

Assistant Teacher

Core Academic Assistant: assist a lead teacher in their classroom.

Schedule: Tuesdays - Thursdays from 9:00 - 200

Tuition Discount: If you commit to the full schedule above, each of your students will be eligible for the Tier 5 discount.

Electives Assistant: Assist a lead teacher in their classroom.

Schedule: Mondays from 9:00 - 2:00

Tuition Discount: If you commit to the full schedule above, each of your students will be eligible for the Tier 3 discount

Substitute / Floater Teacher: Lead a classroom during the event a teacher is absent. 

Schedule: We need varying availability ranging from Monday - Thursday, 9:00 - 2:00

Tuition Discount: If you commit to the full schedule above, each of your students will be eligible for the Tier 5 discount. This means you are on call when we need you. 

Study Hall Monitor: This position will monitor students as they work independently on their individual tasks. You will not need to do any active teaching or instruction.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 9:00 - 2:00

Tuition Discount: Tier 3 - Tier 6 eligibility for each of your students depending on the number of days you commit to volunteering. 

Lunch & Recess Monitor: This position will monitor students as they are eating lunch and playing at recess. You will also need to ensure the cafeteria area is cleaned up after lunch time. This gives our lead teachers a break during the day!

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 10:30 - 12:30

Tuition Discount: Tier 2 discount for each of your students if committing to one day. Tier 3 discount for each of your students if committing to two days. Tier 4 discount for each of your students if committing to three days. Tier 4 discount for each of your students if committing to the full schedule above.

Kitchen - Breakfast: This position will prepare breakfast on our school campus, serve food to students & staff, and will be responsible for kitchen cleanup. Breakfast menus and food shopping will be completed by administration. 

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00 - 9:00

Tuition Discount: Tier 2 discount for each of your students if committing to one day. Tier 3 discount for each of your students if committing to two days. Tier 4 discount for each of your students if committing to three days. Tier 4 discount for each of your students if committing to the full schedule above.

Kitchen - Lunch: This position will prepare lunch on our school campus, serve students & staff, and will be responsible for kitchen cleanup. Lunch menus and food shopping will be completed by administration. 

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 10:00 - 1:00

Tuition Discount: Tier 3 discount for each of your students if committing to one day. Tier 4 discount for each of your students if committing to two days. Tier 4 discount for each of your students if committing to three days. Tier 5 discount for each of your students if committing to the full schedule above.

Before School Care: This position will be in charge of monitoring students attending before school care. You will need to ensure all students are signed in by a parent. 

Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 7:30 - 8:30

Tuition Discount: Tier 1 discount for each of your students if committing to one day. Tier 2 discount for each of your students if committing to two days. Tier 3 discount for each of your students if committing to three days. Tier 3 discount for each of your students if committing to the full schedule above.

After School Care: This position will be in charge of monitoring students attending after school care. You will need to ensure all students are signed out by an authorized parent. 

Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00

Tuition Discount: Tier 2 discount for each of your students if committing to one day. Tier 3 discount for each of your students if committing to two days. Tier 4 discount for each of your students if committing to three days. Tier 4 discount for each of your students if committing to the full schedule above.

After School Club: This position will be in charge of leading an club after school from 2:00 - 3:00.

Schedule: Ranges from once a month to multiple days a week depending on how many clubs you lead.

Tuition Discount: TBD based on number of weekly hours volunteered . 

Janitor: This position will be in charge of cleaning around the school at the end of the day. Daily tasks include sweeping, spot mopping, wiping down tables/desks, refilling supplies like kleenex, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and emptying trash cans into dumpster. (Students do these chores within the classroom each afternoon but we need to go behind them to make sure everything is reset for the next day). Weekly tasks (to be completed on Thursdays) include mopping each room  and hallway thoroughly, vacuuming any carpets/rugs, and ensuring all trash is taken to the dumpster. 

Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00

Tuition Discount: Tier 2 discount for each of your students if committing to one day. Tier 3 discount for each of your students if committing to two days. Tier 4 discount for each of your students if committing to three days. Tier 4 discount for each of your students if committing to the full schedule above.

Security: This position will monitor cameras, situations outside of our campus, and current weather conditions to ensure student and staff safety. 

Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 9:00 - 2:00

Tuition Discount: Tier 3 - Tier 6 eligibility for each of your students depending on the number of days you commit to volunteering. 

Secretary: Help monitor the door, answer phones, schedule tours, and handle daily tasks like inputting attendance, copying, updating reports, etc. 

Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 9:00 - 2:00

Tuition Discount: Tier 3 - Tier 6 eligibility for each of your students depending on the number of days you commit to volunteering. 

Marketing

*Photographer: This position will be responsible for taking photos of the school campus as we do special events and will be required to attend the Spring School Picture Day in addition to the school picture make-up day (dates TBD). Photos will need to be edited and submitted to school administration for use on social media, promotional materials, yearbook, etc. You must provide your own camera equipment and editing software. 

Schedule: first full week of school, all special events, field trips, full last week of school, a special visit to campus each month to capture memories, plus both Picture Day events.

Tuition Discount: Tier 4 discount for each of your students 

*Videographer: This position will be responsible for taking videos of the school campus as we do special events. Videos will need to be edited and submitted to school administration for use on social media, promotional materials, etc. You must provide your own recording equipment and editing software. 

Schedule:  first full week of school, all special events, field trips, full last week of school, a special visit to campus each month to capture memories!

Tuition Discount: Tier 4 discount for each of your students 

*You must provide your own camera/recording equipment and editing software required to complete the job in addition to having experience in the position to qualify. 

REMOTE OPPORTUNITIES 

Event Coordinator: Help schedule field trips, TCS Socials, and other events throughout the school year. 

Tuition Discount: TBD depending on weekly hours volunteered.

Social Media Coordinator: This person will be responsible for creating graphics for the school's promotional material, events, etc. in addition to scheduling daily/weekly posts to our social media accounts. All posts are subject to admin approval. 

Tuition Discount: Tier 4 for each of your students

Step 1: Join our school! At least one family member or family friend (18 years and up) of students who are enrolled in the discounted tuition program must be enrolled in the Parent Educator Program -- this is what ensures you receive your tuition discount.

Step 3: Pay the $60/ person registration fee. We accept cash, checks, and money orders all payable to The Create School. If you need to pay online you will need to use the pay link below. Please note there will be a 3.5% fee added to payments made online. All fees related to the Parent Educator Program are non-refundable. 

Step 4: Once the background check comes back "clear" then you will need to sign the Parent Educator Handbook Acknowledgment form, complete a brief orientation, and sign up to volunteer! Our sign up list will be made available on our Class Dojo app.
